Freshly returned from his travels abroad, President Pardeep Ahluwalia briefed the club on the proceedings of the 2019 Rotary Hamburg Convention.

His presentation included highlights of his convention experiences, lessons learned and a summary of the themes and messages to come out of this year's Rotary International convention.   See below for more details and a link to download his Powerpoint presentation.
This year's Rotary International convention took place in Hamburg, Germany from June 1 to June 5.  President Pardeep reported that there were 25,000 registrants and 17,000 attendees at the event.  At the convention, Pardeep Ahluwalia and Hadi Mortada, and their spouses, represented the Rotary Club of West Ottawa.

Pardeep attended the Presidents-Elect Leadership Luncheon and came away with a reminder of the importance of Service at the heart of the Rotary experience.  The luncheon reinforced the message of needing to improve our advertising campaigns and set out a vision for the way forward.

At the RI Business meeting, the Treasurer reported on dropping membership numbers and the need for attracting and retaining new members.
