Growing Kindness is a fun Thanksgiving mum exchange for workplaces, clubs, teams, families, and groups of friends.
Each participant purchases one beautiful Thanksgiving mum for $20. Rotary randomly matches everyone within the group so that each person gives a mum to someone else and receives a mum in return, along with a heartfelt message.
Nobody knows who will receive the mum they purchased, or who will be sending one to them. That surprise is part of the fun.
There are no names to draw from a hat, no exchange event to organize, and no plants to pick up. Rotary takes care of the matching and delivery.
How It Works
1. Gather Your Group
Invite your coworkers, teammates, club members, family, or friends to take part. The minimum group size is five participants.
2. Pick a Group Name
Choose a fun group name to use when you order, such as Accounting Avengers, Bookworms, or The Tuesday Crew. We'll use it to keep everyone in your exchange together.
3. Order Your Mums
Each participant orders one Thanksgiving mum for $20 and includes the agreed-upon group name with the order.
4. Write Your Card
Write a short Thanksgiving message for the person who will receive your mum. It can be funny, heartfelt, encouraging, or even mysterious, with a few clues about the secret sender.
5. We Do the Matching
Rotary randomly matches everyone within the group. Nobody knows who their recipient will be, or who will be gifting a mum to them.
6. We Deliver
Our volunteers deliver every mum and message just before Thanksgiving. There are no pickups and nothing for your group to coordinate. All you have to do is wait for the surprise.
7. Enjoy
Open the door. Receive a beautiful Thanksgiving mum. Read your message. Smile.
