Mums for Thanksgiving
Each autumn, the Rotary Club of West Ottawa delivers Thanksgiving mums across the community as a simple, colourful way to help people say thank you.
For businesses, it is a thoughtful client appreciation gift. For recipients, it is a bright seasonal surprise. For Rotary, it is a practical way to turn generosity into service.

A Thanksgiving Tradition

Mums for Thanksgiving has become a familiar autumn tradition for many RCWO customers and volunteers. Each order begins with a simple intention: to send something warm, seasonal and personal to someone who matters.
The plants are beautiful, but the meaning goes further. A mum delivered to a doorstep, office or reception desk says, “we appreciate you.” It gives businesses a way to thank clients without sending something impersonal, and it gives recipients a gift they can enjoy throughout the Thanksgiving season.
Behind the scenes, volunteers organize orders, confirm details, sort plants and prepare deliveries. The work is practical and busy, but it is also deeply human. Each delivery represents a connection between the person who ordered, the person receiving, and the community projects made possible through the fundraiser.
How It Works

Customers complete the order form and send it to the Mums for Thanksgiving team. Rotary volunteers then coordinate the delivery process, including recipient addresses, business cards and delivery routes. Customers may also choose self-delivery options when they prefer to pick up or distribute mums themselves.
Rotary delivers throughout Ottawa, Nepean, Kanata, Stittsville, Carp, Richmond, Gloucester, Orléans, Vanier, Manotick, Barrhaven and Rockcliffe Park. If you have questions about the order form, delivery areas or self-delivery options, the Mums team can help.
Delivery day is when the program comes alive. Volunteers head out across the city with colourful mums and warm wishes from the people who ordered them. Some deliveries go to long-time clients. Some go to neighbours, friends or colleagues. Each one carries the same spirit of gratitude.

Why It Matters
Every mum purchased through this campaign helps the Rotary Club of West Ottawa support service projects throughout the year. Funds raised help make work possible in areas such as youth leadership, literacy, food security, local community service and international humanitarian projects.
That is what makes Mums for Thanksgiving more than a seasonal fundraiser. It is a way for customers, recipients and volunteers to take part in something bigger, one plant at a time.
What Customers Are Saying
